What is my url address?
The
url address for your website will be http://www.yourdomain.com
It can also be accessed via http://www.pocinc.net/~username
(*note the "~" will always be there for that one.)
How
do I login to my Cpanel area to access my account?
Visit
http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
Here you will find all the required settings
needed to control
the various features in your account. You have full control
over both your site, email, and domain from here. It has
a
built in file manager in case you do not know how to use
FTP,
account managment for your mail server (such as sperate
email accounts for other users), subdomain control, SQL
access, account information, server information, raw log
access, bandwidth reports, Frontpage Extensions, redirect
options, MIME types, many utilities & much much more!
I
already have a domain, what info do I need to set it up?
DNS Server 1: NS2.UNIXBSD.INFO
DNS Server 2: NS3.UNIXBSD.INFO
You will need that information if you already
have a domain name
and/or prefer to set it up yourself. Make sure you use these
and
no others in order to garantee the DNS switch-over works
properly.
Can
Poc setup my domain name for me if I buy one?
Yes we can set your domain up for you!
If you did not register your domain through us, you need
to supply us
with the login information so we may access it and set it
up for you.
DNS settings generally take 24-48 hours to take affect.
We do offer
a domain registration package so that you do not have to
do anything
and just let us take care of it for you (it costs just as
much as it does to
regsiter it most anywhere else)
How do I access my email?
There are 2 ways to access your email.
1. You can login via your user account via website to read
and
send email from your Cpanel login. From here you can select
4
different web-based email applications to use including
NeoMail,
horde, SquirrelMail and RoundCube. The decision is in your hands!!!

2. You can read your email via an external
application such as
Outlook Express. The mail server will be mail.yourdomain.com
for
both pop3 and smtp. Login using your main login and password.
How do I access my account via ftp?
You
must first download and/or purchase an FTP application such
as
CuteFTP, LeechFTP, and FlashFXP in which you can use to
transfer
your files back and forth. Now you can access your ftp account
by logging
into ftp.yourdomain.com port 21 using your main login and
password.
Your remote path will be: /public_html/
Is there a file size limit on files?
No
Can I serve MP3 files or other copyrighted
material?
No.
Simple as that :P
We do not and will never allow users to host/serve copyrighted
materials on thier websites. This includes things such as
mp3s,
pirated movies, warez, etc. Unless the user has direct permission
from the artists these materials are considered copyrighted
and is
illegal for users to provide such material on thier websites.
We do not allow the use of our service to transmit any material
(by e-mail,
uploading, posting or otherwise) that infringes any copyright,
trademark,
patent, trade secret or other proprietary rights of any
third party,
including, but not limited to, the unauthorized copying
of copyrighted
material, the digitization and distribution of photographs
from
magazines, books, or other copyrighted sources, and the
unauthorized
transmittal of copyrighted software.
If the material is not copyrighted and/or is your own work, then it is fine.
Are there any banned scripts I cannot use?
The Following Scripts Are Banned:
- YaBB CGI Version
- Topsites scripts
- Ikonboard (CGI)
- UltimateBB (CGI)
- 4Images or any CGI based image galleries
- Any scripts VERY likely to eat up all of our CPU
- IRC: We currently do not allow IRC or IRC bots
to be operated on our servers. These include Eggdrop bots
and TCL scripts.
What other banned materials are there?
We
do not allow any hate, illegal, or pornographic material.
The rest is obvious :)
I have unlimited bandwidth but what if
I abuse that?
Everyone
likes the option to actually have unlimited bandwith!
However if this abilitiy is abused by users, we will be
forced to take
it away...in some cases, this may also include the cancelation
of
accounts. If abuse becomes a problem among users, this option
may be removed completely. Lets hope that never happens
-_^
How do I see how much space I have left?
Simply
log into yoru Cpanel area. There you will find the options
to view resource usage and site statistics.
How fast are the hosting server(s)?
The
servers are connected to the Internet through 15 gigabit connections
provided by such carriers as Verio, Cogent, AOL Timewarner,
Allegiance and others. One of the industry’s fastest, most robust networks (100 gigabits/sec)
Are there any webpage creation tools built
in?
Yes!
There are dozens of tools to help get your site online that
can be installed with just a click of a button. Some of
these include phpWCMS, phpWebSite, Post-Nuke, and the popular
PHP-Nuke!!! Plus many many more!! Tools such as PHP-Nuke
can walk you through the creation of a very large site quite
easily -_^
There is also a file manager and additional tools in which
will help you in your process of getting things online!

On top of that! You get RVSite Builder which is an online design application that will walk you through designing your site, step by step!
What
is the path to perl?
Path: /usr/bin/perl
What
is the path to sendmail?
Path: /usr/sbin/sendmail
How
do I manage/install FrontPage Extensions?
You will be able to manage your FrontPage
Extensions via your Cpanel login.

What is my url address?
The
url address for your website will be http://www.animevortex.net/~username/
*note the "~" will always be there. This address
will automatically resolve to http://www.animevortex.net/users/username/...in
which can also be used while
creating links for/in your website (no ~)
Can
I use/have a subdomain?
Yes
you can be supplied with a subdomain and at no extra charge.
It will look like http://yourchoice.animevortex.net or it
can also be
http://yourchoice.pochosting.com if you
chose. You may use *almost
anything for your choice (*upon approval/must be unique
such as
fibbles.animevortex.net or thecorner.animevortex.net and
not like
about.animevortex.net or news.animevortex.net).
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes you can use your own domain if you chose. You
can use a
redirect option offered by your registar to point to the
url we
assign you. (*we do not offer dedicated IP's yet, sorry)
Can
Poc setup my domain name for me if I buy one?
Yes we can set your domain up for you if you register
it through one of
our preferred registrars or any other that offers domain
redirection.
You just need to supply us with the login information so
we may access
it and set it up for you. Redirection settings generally
take 12-24 hours

How do I access my email?
There

party smtp servers preventing you from sending mail through them.

would prefer users to keep files no larger than 5 megs.

to have anything larger, we ask that you inform us so we
can evaluate it.

- Chat Scripts: We usually do not allow clients to
install their own
chat
rooms. These tend to be a large drain on system resources
and we cannot allow it as an account option. CGI Chat rooms
are
absolutely prohibited in all situations. Java clients to
connect to irc
rooms are fine (eg. JIRC) however, php or cgi chat clients
are
banned. Habbo style chatting scripts are also banned due
to the
intensity of them and the server resources they use.
- IRC: We currently do not allow IRC or IRC bots
to be operated on our servers. These include Eggdrop bots
and TCL scripts.
What other banned materials are there?
We

Payments
When will I be billed?
Most
payment options offer automatic subscription plans so
you will be automatically billed and charged each month
on
the day you sign up and that same day each month after.
Current manual billing period rolls out the 1st
of every month.
You will have between the 1st and the 5th to make payment.
Can
I view my invoice info?
Yes, you can do so by visiting the invoice section -
Click Here
You can use this section to see how much your account
costs, your member history, payment options, and other
account details not found in your user section login.
How do I pay?
We currently are taking payments via PayPal.
Additional forms of payment will be offered
in the future.
*Please note that all payments are final! There will
be no
refunds or credits unless told otherwise by Poc staff.
(credits will be issued if a lengthy outage were to occur)
Will my bill ever raise/change?
NO! Good god no...we would never do that. We reserve
the right to
change account details and such, giving prior notice of
course, but
we will never change how much you have to pay :)
As for account details...we will not lower your space or
cut your
speed, but we may remove options such as unlimited bandwidth
but only if we
are held to the ground an tortured -_^
I cannot have a PayPal account...what do
I do?
If you do not have access to a PayPal account,
you can
contact us for other options if they are available.
